P0004 – Nozestat 100 ml
SKU: P0004
Nozestat Solution is a combination of iodine and formic acid. The two active substances have a strong antiseptic and antiprotozoal effect and show additive synergism. #antibioticfree Nozestat Name of the veterinary medicinal product: Nozestat Excipients: peppermint tincture (Tincture of Peppermint) – 2.0 ml. Mechanism of action: the product is a clear, light brown liquid with a specific odor. It dissolves readily in water. Nozestat is a combination of iodine and formic acid. These two active substances have a pronounced antiseptic and antiprotozoal action and also act synergistically (iodine and formic acid). It is well tolerated by bees and is effective against Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae. When administered orally dissolved in sugar syrup, formic acid dissociates in the aqueous medium, releasing hydrogen ions. The action of these ions results from the acid penetrating the cell membrane and reacting with its components. On the membrane damaged in this way, the hydrogen ions of the dissociated acid destroy the spores of Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae. Iodine acts on the amino groups of proteins, denatures proteins and inhibits certain enzyme systems, and therefore has an antiprotozoal action (against trichomonads, coccidia, amoebae, Nosema apis and Nosema ceranae). Nozestat has no adverse effect on the development of bee colonies, the egg-laying ability of the queen or the bee brood. Administration and dosage: Administered as supplementary feed (1:1) with sugar syrup or with a honey-sugar mixture. Mix the contents of bottle #2 (20 ml) with the contents of bottle #1 (80 ml). Add 5 ml of the resulting solution to 1 L of sugar syrup or 1 kg of honey-sugar mixture. The resulting medicated syrup is given 3 times at 3-day intervals in a dose of 500–800 ml. Repeat the same regimen after 1 week. The medicated honey-sugar mixture is given once in a dose of 200–300 g. It may be repeated 1 week after the first dose has been fully consumed. Interactions with other veterinary medicinal products: Nozestat must not be mixed with other preventive or therapeutic products when feeding with sugar syrup, as the active substances of the product are reactive. Storage conditions: store Nozestat closed, in a place protected from direct sunlight, at 15–30 °C and 60% ± 5% air humidity. Packaging: Nozestat is a solution for extemporaneous mixing, supplied in two types of bottles: bottle #1 contains 80 ml of iodine solution; Bottle #1 has a volume of 100 ml, is made of dark brown polyethylene terephthalate and is closed with a white polyethylene cap and a protective seal. Bottle #1 may also be made of dark brown glass with a rubber stopper and an aluminum seal. Bottle #2 has a volume of 20 ml, is made of white polyethylene and is closed with a white polyethylene cap and a protective seal. Both bottles and a measuring syringe are packed in a cardboard box. Safety rules: when working with the product, observe the general rules of personal hygiene and safety accepted for the use of veterinary medicinal products.
